Factory assembled with gear drive, motor, mount, sheaves and beltguard.

Shipped ready to install on conveyor.

Dorris TD Series part numbers identify motor horsepower, final drive rpm, shaft size and customer-supplied products

(i.e. motors & sheaves). Consult factory if desired speed is not shown.

TD drives fit CEMA standard trough ends and have standard performance packing glands.

TD drives are AGMA Class II Rating (SF=1.4) and V-Belt drives are SF=1.5Standard motors are 1750 rpm, TEFC, and standard NEMA frame size.

TD Series Part Number Examples

Part numbers for the Dorris TD Series identify motor horsepower, final drive rpm, shaft size, and customer supplied products (i.e. motors & sheaves). 3 o’clock assembly assumed.
107TD3-100-2 107TD series drive for 3 HP, with sheaves to produce a 100 rpm output speed, using a 2" dia. drive shaft. Dorris to supply motor and v-belt drive.
107TD3C100-2 107TD series drive for 3 HP, with sheaves to produce a 100 rpm output speed, using a 2" dia. drive shaft. Customer to supply motor. Dorris to supply v-belt drive.

Belt Guard Description

Custom belt guards designed for TD Series. 16 gage carbon steel power coated safety yellow with hinged door for easy access.

Dorris Supplied V-Belt Selection Criteria

Loading:

The minimum rated capacity of a v-belt drive shall be based upon a nominal 1.5 service factor using the rated motor power when used with a gear drive with a service factor of 1.25 – 1.5 or AGMA Class II service. The minimum service factor should be raised to match that of the gear drive when higher gear drive service factors are required.

Sheave type:

Only sheaves with tapered bushings for ease of assembly/disassembly and with a minimum of 2 grooves shall be used. Bored to size and single groove sheaves will not be allowed.

Belt type:

V-belt cross sections may be either an Ultra-V (3V, 5V, or 8V) or classical (B, C or D only) design. Selection shall take into consideration heat dissipation and be of a cog or wrapped design.

Reduction:

Speed reduction with the belt drive shall not exceed a maximum of 2.3/1 for final drive speeds greater than 20 rpm. This will act to prevent excessive belt wear due to low wrap angles.
