The TD Series:

The Dorris TD Series is designed and factory-assembled for the OEM screw conveyor application.

Competitively priced, the TD package contains a gear drive, motor mount, belt guard, sheaves, belts and motor and ships fully assembled from our factory in St. Louis.

Sheaves, belts and motors may be supplied by the customer or provided by Dorris. The TD is shipped ready to install on the conveyor.

TD drives fit CEMA standard trough ends and have standard performance packing glands. They are AGMA Class II Rating (SF = 1.4) and V-Belt drives are SF = 1.5.

Our new TD product brochure goes to press the week of June 9 and will be available very soon – we will send you quantities once we have them.

We have already put the information on our website, with a link from our home page www.dorrisco.com --- check it out!

PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS . . .

The Tapered Bushing:

One of the benefits of the Dorris TR series shaft mount is the tapered bushing. It is easier to install and remove than any comparable bushing system.

The single tapered bushing consists of a flexible sleeve and threaded collar that conforms to the driven shaft with greater gripping power than other bushings.

Our tapered bushing is designed to avoid crevice or fretting corrosion, localized welding, binding and many ot the problems inherent to other bushing designs.

Dorris tapered bushings:

-- Mount from the front, requiring access only to the front of the unit both for installation and removal. Easily accessible. Easier to install & remove.

-- Are single pieced -- tightening one bushing won't loosen the other. Avoids twin tapered bushing grip problems.

-- Require less shaft for support. Can be mounted against the adjacent pillow block, making the assembly less expensive and more compact. Reduces overhung loads.

We are confident that the Dorris tapered bushing system is the best design for installation, function, maintenance and ultimately cost.

ENGINEERING INSIGHTS

TR bushing installation is not trivial. It is backwards from what one would assume. Please tell your customers to be sure to read the instructions before mounting the bushing.

Detailed instruction for mounting the bushing can be found both in the "Type 1 & Type 2 Bushing Installation & Removal Instructions" included in each bushing kit, as well as the "Installation, Lubrication and Maintenance Instructions" shipped to the customer with each gear drive. They are available on our website: http://www.dorrisco.com/products.htm
