bulletDetails of original drive: Eurodrive type vertical gearmotor with solid output shaft using rigid coupling to interface the drive to the mixer’s impeller shaft. Assorted sizes ranging from 5 HP through 25 HP motors, all with 25:1 ratio gearing and Class II Service Factor.
bulletDetails of Dorris replacement drive: Modified 315SM25 SMR with vertical ‘p’ face input and vertical hollow output shaft which "swallows" the mixer’s impeller shaft. Drive is equipped with true dry well construction to prevent possibility of oil leakage down the output shaft and oil level switch to shut down motor in case of low oil condition.
bulletHow has the Dorris drive performed, enhanced, simplified, condensed, etc. the customer’s overall drive package: One drive fits all motor sizes. Performs superbly and eliminates the very expensive LSS rigid coupling which formerly was used to interface the drive to the impeller shaft. The dry well also makes the drive leak proof which was not available in vertical
gearmotor type drives. The drive and application is a real good match.

We are supplying the drives with Daubert VCI-105 rust inhibitor, special assembly, special packaging, a special oil drain location, and a special torque arm assembly.
bulletHow has the Dorris drive simplified, condensed, etc. the customer’s overall drive package:
The customer selected 20:1 and 40:1 ratios, optimizing the belt and sheave ratios. The motor mount side brackets and bottom plate are assembled at the factory, reducing their installation time.
bulletWhy did Dorris get the order? CUSTOMER SERVICE – The entire Dorris organization earned this customer. Every technical and commercial question was answered thoroughly and promptly. Special machining, assembly, and packaging
